Forests hold many important values for humans.

Consequently, the proper management of Lebanon's

forests is a subject of major importance to the national and

international community. After years of serious threats

facing forests in the country, the Lebanese aspire that their

unique remaining forests will be protected for current and

future generations. Accordingly, as an important step

towards the protection of Lebanese forests, a

comprehensive study of the state of Lebanon's forests was

needed.
