This booklet is a first initiative to present for potential funding partners some of the project proposals that were carefully elaborated within the context of the recently developed National Strategy for Forest Fire Management. The presented projects portfolio is supposed to complement previous works undertaken by the Lebanese Government through 1) the establishment of an inter-ministerial committee to follow up fire prevention and land restoration activities, and 2) the creation of a National Executive and Technical Forest Fire Prevention and Forest Restoration Committee through the decision number 118/2007 chaired by the Ministry of Environment to deal with the problem of forest fires. Also, the presented work is supposed to complement what has been achieved by the Ministry of Environment in partnership with the Association for Forests, Development and Conservation (AFDC) through the Memorandum of Understanding.

In addition, it complements all on-going projects and recently completed projects which have been funded by different national and international organizations.
